5 Tips For Creative Spaces In Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis
Get crafty with 5 helpful tips for starting up your own PSO2 territory.
Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis will have you well-occupied with setting up your own bases thanks to the Creative Space update. You'll get the resources necessary to build anything from strongholds and sculptures to racetracks and mini-games. These things can be done by placing parts, altering the terrain, and choosing the music and time of day.

With the lengthy tutorial and the complex menu interface, getting in a groove and building can get overwhelming. Thankfully, you can follow these helpful tips, so you can get on the fast track to building your ideal space and appreciate other players' territories without paying for premium.
GP Trees are where you collect GP Points in the form of colorful, glowing berries. These points are used to buy new parts for your Creative Space. The catch is that you can only pick a handful of GP Trees per day until you can collect more GP Points, making it another daily errand in the game should you want it.
If you have the time, try to look for gold and rainbow GP Trees, as these provide you with more points over blue and green trees. A rainbow tree can net you as much as 300 points, while a green tree will only provide 50 at a time. By searching for trees with higher point values, you'll be able to purchase all the Creative Space parts you'd like at a faster rate.
Some Creative Spaces are made to have you wandering about looking for GP Trees in hopes of finding that elusive rainbow tree. Needless to say, you can often lose your way, and getting back to the main portal can be a time-consuming challenge.

To automatically spawn to the portal or leave the space, open the Quick Menu. From there, you can select the Creative Space option. Choose "Return to Starting Point" to warp back to the space entrance or go to other Creative Spaces without needing to find the portal. You can also leave Creative Spaces altogether and return to the main game.
If you have large ambitions of making elaborate artistic works, it's going to be a chore without utilizing the mode's Build Options menu. While each individual part has its own properties, you can use the Build Options menu that applies to all your builds and parts.
In this menu, the following settings are available:

These settings will allow you to adjust the parts with more freedom, so you can create shapes just as you envision without finicky restrictions and snapping. If you are unsure about how a part is positioned, you can reset coordinates and readjust when needed. You can also change colors to certain parts, such as 3D shapes, to take your designs further. When you finish your work, don't forget to save your design, so you can load it any time without having to build from scratch again.
With collision detection, you can add restraint and surprises to your spaces. Collision detection can allow you to put up invisible fences to restrain players from accessing off-limits areas. Disabling it can also allow you to run through solid walls and objects, ideally for secret rooms and puzzles.

Take collision detection one step further and allow certain parts, such as doors and decoys, to be triggered with player movement or action. Access Build Parts Settings on each part to enable and disable visibility, collision, function, and other properties with input and output parts involved. This might be tricky to get used to, but you'll be getting the hang of it like basic programming.
You may have clever ideas for spaces with hills, mountains, and other areas that involve heavy use of the terrain features, like in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. But in case you changed your mind or made some mistakes, it's nice to know you can revert the ground back to the way it was without trying to undo the rugged ground manually.
In the C-Space Menu, Choose "Reset Terrain" to revert the ground to the original flat setting. This won't undo the parts or other elements placed, so don't worry about losing progress on non-terrain creations like buildings and scenery. "Reset Build Parts Placement" is just above that should you wish to revert your space back to the simple house design.
